One of the most important lessons that the wisdom of Florence Shinn has taught me in The Game Of Life is that life definitely is a game and was never meant to be a battle or struggle. During challenging and uncertain times I do my best to remember that.

The trick to playing this game called life is to remain certain even when everything around me is falling apart!

That does not mean living in denial or pretending something isn’t happening when it clearly is, it means believing that despite the circumstances I believe what I desire will happen.

There are two important elements to add to that.

1. I must constantly focus on the energy of what I want and be sure I am open to receiving it/believe I desire it. Any feelings of lack plus any deep feelings of not being worthy will limit my possibilities.

2. What I give out returns to me. An important rule in the game. In Chapter One I read that Jesus taught us life was all about giving and receiving. The giving part of that equation is important. Expecting to find love and be happy while being jealous of people who are in love will not help me get what I want. Wanting success in life and then talking bad about people who have success is not going to bring me success.

Quote from Chapter 1 of the game of life and how to play it.

“Whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap.” This means that whatever man sends out in word or deed, will return to him; what he gives, he will receive. If he gives hate, he will receive hate; if he gives love, he will receive love; if he gives criticism, he will receive criticism; if he lies he will be lied to; if he cheats he will be cheated.”

The secret to making sure I succeed at this game during 2013 will be to always give out in abundance what I wish to receive for myself. Sometimes that can be challenging for me because I believe I give a lot and people are happy to take and yet what comes back is very little or nothing at all. The trick for me will be to continue to give anyway without expectation. I think nothing comes back sometimes because I give expecting something and that isn’t the way to go.

I am re-reading the Game Of Life right now as I believe I can never read it too many times. My insights, ideas and comments are what you will find on this blog. If you read this and have anything to share yourself please do by leaving a comment at the end of the blog post.
